64 GB white iPhone caught in the wild… running prototype iOS 4 with Expose, new folder system, Facebook integration?
Remember the second people to bring the world legit photos of the iPhone 4? How about a mid-year MacBook refresh and an iPod touch camera prototype? Well, they (Tinhte) are back and they’re back with a white iPhone 4. It’s not any white iPhone 4, see, it runs a never before seen version of iOS 4. From the looks of things, iOS 4 could have lost the Spotlight search menu from the iOS 3 days and the iOS 4 multitasking instead could have been an Expose multitasking page with a Spotlight menu at the top of the display. Really cool stuff happening here. (via Engadget)
Update: We’ve found a new video from the same source, this time showing off some of the device’s hardware: it’s 64 GB and obviously a prototype based on the camera and buttons designs. Oh, iOS 4 could have brought a brand-new home screen folders interface… it’s/was awesome!
Why we think it’s really something Apple crafted: This particular phone is running an Apple-internal application called “Radar” in addition to a game called “Tough Fighter.” If you’re not familiar, Touch Fighter is a game Apple actually built to show off the iPhone’s accelerometer and graphics performance at one of their early SDK keynote. Saw the video. While I like the expose like multitasking interface, I would imagine iOS 5 has more features than just that. And maybe a new look as well. The jury is still out. Could very well be a JB.
Most probably fake. Looks a lot like multifl0w with the abundance of jailbreak apps on the phone itself. Plus the home button's square color is doubtful since it's supposed to be black/greyish

It looks like a worse version of Multifl0w (http://www.multifl0w.com/about.php) that has been available for Jailbroken phones already. I actually prefer to have the "X" up all the time so I can easily close apps.
Fake. Apple would not house a cancel button beside the X in the spotlight search. It's far too redundant.

I'm liking the new multi-tasking UI if this is indeed legit. It could be a jailbroken device, I'm sure I've seen something similar to that over on the dark side lol. Time will tell as they say!
Unless Apple goes back to iOS 3's calculator logo, voice memo's logo and the network bars! I'd say this is fake! Do y'all really think Apple would do that?

Why I think it's fake, or simply an iPhone 4: 1. No settings, General, About view to show iOS 5. Notice when he goes there, he avoids scrolling down…
2. No new notification system shown.
3. Old antenna design!
4. New folder view is the only thing that makes me wonder(multitasking view looks just like MultiFlow, except with Spotlight).
This looks nothing more than a test model for a white iPhone 4….if this IS in fact an iPhone 5, someone needs to teach these people how to do a video showing new features, not just tapping on safari and dialing random numbers.

If it were iOS 5, why would the voice memo icon be the way it looked BEFORE Apple revamped it with iOS 4 (or some other release). Point is, if it truely were an authentic Apple OS, that change in design for an icon would not make a lot of sense, would it? Otherwise nice, not blown away by it though (even though using the full screen for multitasking is definitely better than having to "swipe" your way through the 4 icons on the bottom to get to the actual app.
Nah I don't think it's legit. Something about the multitasking UI doesn't seem very Apple-like to me. It looks like a jailbroken phone. And I don't think that's an iPhone 5, but instead a prototype white iPhone 4.
It may be legit, but I'm almost positive that if it is, it is nowhere near the final build. e.g. the way the folder opens when a new file is created looks nowhere as beautiful as iOS 4.X. The animations and design of the new functions seem to spoil instead of complement the whole feel and beauty of what is there now. Or is it just me?

As much as I wish this was iOS 5, I have serious doubts that it is iOS 5. Simply b/c the icon for the voice memo app is the old style and not the new style. Apple may have decided to switch it back or maybe it's just a build of iOS 5, but something's not stirring the KoolAid.
Plus, the "End Call" button says "End" on current iOS builds. I say iOS 4 with jailbroken enhancements. Final Answer.

I really hope they bring some more innovation on Apple's system. I was really hoping for iOS 5 to be a revamped version. I am kinda tired of the interface already. Hopefully this was a very early version of what they are planning to release in june.

if that's how iOS 5 will be on final release, then Apple have implemented Expose for iOS exactly how I hoped they would!.. I don't know if they left it this late because the hardware wasn't capable on earlier iOS devices, but this is how it should have been from the start.
Oh, also it probably has new gestures that maybe the person who has that iPhone doesn't know to try – i.e. the ones on those Apple patents posted a week or few ago.

They designed the iOS to know when your calling and iPhone iPad or iPod touch of not it doesn't show up in the call. It came into affect when the new iPod touch came out.

its fake, in the second video when he goes into about you can clearly see its version is 4.0 8A293. he doesnt scroll down enough to show it all but you can see the top of the 4 and its clearly not a 5.

It seems to me that this may be an early prototype that has since been updated to the newest softward and jailbroken ? He does have Tangled and Tron on the phone, so the video has to at least be recent! I hope Apple does incorporate a multitasking similar to this with a dedicated "message" panel located in the first row anytime you open up the multitask window. Bottom line, they need major help on the notification system so it's not so intrusive and interrupts/pauses a games or video. I'm sure they'll address many of the UI's issues to hold over people until the iPhone 5 comes out later this fall.

The exposé switcher has the exact same problem as Multifl0w for jailbroken units, no media controls. This would be a massive oversight from Apple if they didn't include this. Still the OS is probably very in beta so it could be legit
I'm also disappointed to see that most of the UI has remained the same. 4 years later and things like the lockscreen and pages of apps (and folders) are starting to show their age in my opinion

If you pause at 1:18 on video #2, you see the settings for "SpringBoard"… Apple doesn't commonly use this term, so it may be jailbroken…

About the iPhone its probably just a white iPhone 4 with bumped specs, such as gigs, or just an internal testing device with extra gigabytes.

in my opinion this is just one of the first iphone 4s , remember that there was white iphone 4 to show off at the WWDC! so this coud be one of the very first iphone 4 prototype so even in white (the camera hole looks identical to the one of the first iphone 4 prototype that gizmodo bought) , with a software that to me is worst then the actual one. the folders are much much better now for example! so i think it's just a very old iphone 4 prototype!
That's clearly an early build for iOS 4.0. They probably wanted to do the multitasking that way, but it didn't worked out. All those old icons proves that…
Anyone noticed that the camera does not have a chrome ring around?
I am pretty sure that this is fake, but you also have to remember that the hardware designers and software developers don't really share their work, this could be a hardware designers unit running an incomplete ios build.
Something tells me that this is most likely a beta build of iOS 4. The most convincing thing in my mind that this isn't iOS 5 is that folder interface. That's UGLY. No way would Apple downgrade to that appearance.
The current Folder appearance is so bad I don't think anything could be considered a downgrade.

its definitely JB and he's running a multi-flow tweak from cydia that has a "double tap home button" activation
and the "folders" he has is a tweak in cydia known as: foldersenhancer
I'm using the exact same tweak he shows in the 2nd vid
and reason you dont see "cydia" icon is because there is another tweak that can make any icon you want INVISIBLE

Folders Argument: The folders are different as there is more padding between them and the screen. The folder icons are also darker as well as the actual background when opened.
Multiflow Argument: There is a search bar at the top and no Activator preference in Settings.

iP4 64GB WHITE: That is the name he gave it in iTunes. When it is being activated the person selling it to you has iTunes in activation mode. In this mode the device is named "iPhone". That is why this is what you see.
Proximity Argument: Forever. This is something seen in even the original White iPhone 4 in Steve Jobs hand.
